Chief Minister to hold election rally in Cooch Behar on June 26, preps begin in full swing

Cooch Behar, 24th June: Trinamool supremo and Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, is set to visit Cooch Behar to campaign for the upcoming panchayat elections. The CM will address an election meeting at Chandmari Pran Nath High School, located in the Cooch Behar South Assembly constituency, on Monday, June 26. The Cooch Behar District Trinamool Congress has already commenced preparations for the event.

In recent elections, starting from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to the 2021 assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had shown significant progress in Cooch Behar district. However, the BJP failed to secure any seats in the municipal elections. This time, the opposition parties have fielded more than 80% of the candidates in the panchayat elections.

Furthermore, the panchayat elections will be conducted under the supervision of central forces. Given this scenario, the Chief Minister’s visit to Cooch Behar for the election campaign aims to boost the morale of party workers and supporters. Preparations have already begun for the Chief Minister’s election meeting.

Cooch Behar District Trinamool Congress President, Abhijit Dey Bhowmik, expressed great enthusiasm among Trinamool Congress workers and the general public regarding Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s election meeting, which comes after the 2021 assembly elections.
