Central reduces excise duty on petrol and diesel, all eyes on West Bengal govt’s next step

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Saturday, announced that the central government will reduce the central excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre. With this move, the price of petrol will be reduced by Rs 9.5 per litre and diesel by Rs 7 per litre. 
Sitharaman added that the step will bring the rising prices of essential commodities down for the general public. After the centre’s announcement, all eyes are on the West Bengal government’s next step.
