Bus carrying 30 migrant workers left for Cooch Behar from Fulbari

Rajganj, 15th May: A bus carrying several migrant workers left for Cooch Behar from Fulbari on Friday morning. The initiative has been adopted on behalf of the Fulbari Trinamool Congress.

Apu Debnath, a migrant worker, stated that he is a resident of Dinhata in Cooch Behar and went to Bihar along with his wife and children several months ago. After the nation-wide lockdown was imposed, they could not return home. He maintained that they were struggling each day to cope up with the fight against the pandemic and were facing a shortage of food. With no other choice left, around 30 workers then decided to walk back home. After reaching Fulbari, the TMC workers stepped forward and arranged a bus to help them reach home.

Subhankar, a member of the Fulbari Yuva Trinamool Congress, stated that they have been regularly providing food and shelter to the workers for the past six days and further stated that it was a pleasure to help them in such a crisis.
