BSNL temporary employees call off strike ending 29 days of agitation in Siliguri

Siliguri, 29th November: The demand for BSNL workers was finally fulfilled after about 29 days of agitation. The temporary employees of BSNL have returned to their work again.

It is to be noted that the temporary employees of BSNL had participated in the strike for several demands including the demand for arrears of salary. Due to the continuous strike by closing the gates of the General Manager’s office as well as the BSNL office in Siliguri, the work came to a standstill. The effect of this was felt in many places including the ‘Mayor Ke Bolo’ program of the SMC.

After agitating for 29 consecutive days, today all the demands of the temporary employees were accepted, after which the agitators opened the gate of the BSNL office. Ashok Das said that all their demands have been accepted and thus have called off the strike from today.
