Brutal murder of a youth by a toto driver over money near Fulbari 

Siliguri, 07th December: Another horrific incident of a brutal murder of a youth has surfaced from the area of Fulbari over a transaction involving a few rupees. 


Reportedly, locals got suspicious after seeing a toto parked in front of a rehabilitation centre in Chopabhita, Sipaipara area of Fulbari around 10 pm on Tuesday. When they approached the toto driver, the locals noticed another youth lying near the e-rickshaw. On seeing this, the driver tried to flee from the spot but was nabbed by the locals.

Later the locals informed the NJP police and after receiving the news the cops reached the spot and arrested the said toto driver. Along with this, a sharp weapon was also recovered from the spot. According to police sources, the deceased youth has been identified as Rintu Sarkar alias Gopa. The youth was a resident of the Michael Madhusudan Colony area adjacent to Ambika Nagar. Several criminal cases including firearms, theft, and dacoity were registered against the deceased at the police station.


On the other hand, the accused youth has been identified as Raju Shah, a resident of D block of Suryasen Colony, Siliguri. After questioning him, the police came to know that there was a dispute between the two over Rs 2400. After this, he killed Rintu by strangling him with a noose. The NJP police have started investigating the entire incident.
