Kalchini, 16th March: Two people were severely injured in a road accident in the Nimti area of Kalchini block under Alipurduar district.
It has been learned that a truck loaded with bricks overturned in the Nimti area on Wednesday morning. Initially, four people were crushed under the wheels of the truck. After the incident, locals rushed to the spot and successfully managed to rescue two of them. However, the other two were still under the wheels.
Kalchini police reached the spot shortly after and rescued them with the help of a crane. They sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Alipurduar district hospital. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
