Body of woman and daughter recovered from a residence in Siliguri’s Ward No. 36

Siliguri, 03rd December: Sensation prevailed after the bodies of a woman and her daughter were recovered from a house in the Shanti Nagar Bowbazar area under Ward No. 36 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).


According to reports, Sadhan Sarkar, a resident of the said ward, lived with his wife Lata and daughter Tiasa. Similar to other days, Sadhan went out for his work. Later, as he returned in the afternoon, he noticed his bedroom door closed. Despite calling out repeatedly, as there was no response, the door was broken with the help of neighbors.

As they entered the room by breaking the door open, they spotted the wife hanging and the daughter lying on the bed. Immediately, the matter was informed to the police. Upon receiving the news, the cops of Ashighar Outpost arrived at the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
