Kharibari, 27th October: Body of an unidentified person was recovered from the Mechi River on the Indo-Nepal border in Gaursingh Jose area of Panitanki under Kharibari block.
The locals have speculated that the person slipped into the river while crossing the border resulting to his death. However, the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet.
Soon after receiving the news the Kharibari police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The police are investigating the entire incident.
