Body of missing person who drowned in Mahananda River at Fulbari barrage recovered after three days

Rajganj, 11th December: The body of the person who went missing after he drowned in Mahananda River at Fulbari Barrage was recovered after three days. The body was retrieved this morning from Laldas area under Phansidewa block. The deceased has been identified as Dilip Das (45) of DS Colony, Siliguri.


It is to recall, on Wednesday morning, Dilip Das had gone fishing in the Mahananda river at Fulbari Barrage. At 4 pm, he accidentally drowned while crossing the river to reach a rock pile. His bicycle and shoes were later found on the banks of the river.

The disaster management team of Dabgram Armed Police Barracks under the aegis of the Phanidewa police station initiated the search operation however the team could not find any trace of Das until yesterday. His body was recovered three days later today from a river in the Laldas area of ​​the Indo-Bangladesh border.
