BJP’s seige of Cooch Behar SP office, situation remains grim

Dinhata, 20th March: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initiated a seige of Cooch Behar Superintendent of Police (SP) office through a rally in protest against the Dinhata incident.


Cooch Behar District BJP President and MLA Sukumar Roy, MLA Mihir Goswami and other leaders were present at the rally. The developing situation led to a tense atmosphere in the area.

Reportedly, the BJP workers and supporters carried out a rally from district party office and arrived at the SP office located in Sagardighi area after circumambulating various roads of Cooch Behar. Significantly, the police had set up barricades in front of the SP office to stop the rally.


Meanwhile, the BJP workers and supporters attempted to march through the barricades resulting in chaos in the area. Later, a BJP delegation met the District Superintendent of Police and handed over a memorandum.
