Rajganj, 02nd August: Rajganj MLA Dinesh Sarkar inaugurated a solar-powered water tank at Rajganj Police Station and later carried out a joint inspection of fertilizer and pesticide shops at the Rajganj market along with administrative officials.
The solar-powered water tank was inaugurated at the police station premises in the presence of the Block Development Officer (BDO) and other administrative officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Sarkar said the state government remains committed to improving the working environment for police personnel. He said the solar water tank was installed following a request from the police to address drinking water-related issues at the station.
After the inauguration, the MLA, accompanied by the BDO, the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) of Rajganj Police Station and other officials, conducted a joint inspection of shops dealing in fertilizers and pesticides in the Rajganj market. During the inspection, the team checked for the sale of toxic chemicals, black-marketing and overpricing of fertilizers.
Dinesh Sarkar said the inspection was aimed at preventing the sale of toxic chemicals, particularly those used in tea gardens, and ensuring fertilizers were being sold at the prescribed rates. He added that similar inspections would continue regularly in the coming days.
