BJP stages protest and submits memorandum at Borough Office No. 1 in Siliguri over waterlogging issue

Siliguri, 18th June: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and supporters from 1 and 2 Mandals staged a protest and submitted a memorandum at Borough Office No. 1 on Thursday, demanding immediate action over persistent waterlogging issues in several parts of the city.

The protestors marched from the Mallaguri area before reaching Borough Office No. 1. They expressed anger after failing to meet the Borough Chairman at the scheduled time, which initially led to a protest demonstration. The situation was later brought under control after the Chairman arrived at the office.

Following this, the delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting water stagnation and other local issues across multiple wards of the city.

BJP leaders alleged that several areas have been facing drinking water and drainage problems for a long time and demanded swift administrative intervention to reduce public inconvenience.

Borough Office No. 1 Chairman Gargi Chatterjee said that efforts will be made to drain out water from Ward No. 46 within the next seven days. She also assured that waterlogging and drainage issues in other affected wards will be addressed soon.
