BJP leaders took to streets in support of 12-hour bandh, many arrested

Kharibari, 28th February: BJP leaders locked the Kharibari BDO office on Monday supporting the 12-hour bandh called across West Bengal. Multiple leaders including BJP’s Siliguri organizational district Yuva president Kanchan Debnath were arrested.


It has been learned that a rally under the leadership of Kanchan Debnath was taken out this morning. Following this, the supporters locked the gate of the Kharibari BDO office and staged a sit-in protest.


Upon receiving the news, a large team of Kharibari police reached the spot and asked the protesters to depart. As they disobeyed, a total of 11 individuals including BJP’s Siliguri organizing district Yuva president Kanchan Debnath and Kharibari-Buraganj Mandal president Kalyan Prasad were arrested. Besides, four more BJP workers were arrested from the Chakramari region.
