Siliguri, 29th May: BJP leaders distributed ‘Annapurna Yojana’ forms among local women at Shanti More area under Ward No. 15 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Friday.
According to the BJP, the initiative is being carried out as part of the party’s pre-Assembly election promise to provide financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month to women through the ‘Annapurna Yojana’.
Party leaders said a 12-page application form has already been released as part of the process and claimed that the financial assistance would start reaching beneficiaries’ bank accounts from next month.
The forms were distributed under the leadership of SMC’s Opposition leader Amit Jain.
BJP leaders further stated that similar camps would be organised across all wards of the city to ensure that residents do not face inconvenience in accessing the forms. They also mentioned that online submission facilities are available for applicants.
According to the party, women will have to submit the filled-up forms to the BLO of their respective areas to complete the application process.
