BJP activists protest over BJP candidate selection in Islampur assembly

Islampur, 19th March: A wave of dissatisfaction was witnessed among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in various places of West Bengal after the declaration of the party’s candidate list for the upcoming West Bengal assembly election.


Likewise, on Friday, the members of BJP’s Yuva Morcha protested and burnt tires in front of the party office in Islamapur after Saumyaroop Mandal was selected as the candidate for the Islampur assembly.


BJP Youth leader Aniket Das showed disapproval towards BJP’s preference and alleged that Saumyaroop Mandal did not extend his helping hand towards the families of the people killed in the Daribhit incident. He further warned of boycotting the polls if Mandal is not replaced by another candidate soon. Meanwhile, other youth activists raised questions over the fact that how Mandal received the ticket for the third time despite losing the last two elections.
