Siliguri, 11th July: A youth arrested in connection with a bike theft case was produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday after the completion of his four-day police remand.
According to reports, plainclothes police from Siliguri Police Station arrested Bittu Debnath four days ago on charges of bike theft. Police alleged that the accused had been associated with a motorcycle theft racket for a long time.
A stolen motorcycle was also recovered from his possession. Police further alleged that he dismantled stolen motorcycles and sold their parts at different locations.
Following his arrest, the accused was taken into four-day police remand for further investigation. After the remand period ended, he was produced before the Siliguri court. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
