Siliguri, 05th September: Technical and ground level intelligence team of officers and men of D.D Siliguri Police Commissionerate managed to track down a criminal gang from Bihar being led by Shahnawaj Ansery at Fulbari.
Shanawaj Ansery (22), Mithun Gowala (30), Mahindar Yadav (50), Md. Ahamed (22) and Ajay Kumar (20) were apprehended by a dedicated team of SPC under the command of ACP DD II Siliguri Police Commissionerate.
On search, two motorcycles, two automatic pistols, three magazines, 17 rounds of ammunition, two motorcycle/ four wheeler lock breaking tools and 07 number of mobile phones, one internet dongle and 22 numbers of FICN notes in the denomination of 100 rupees has been recovered from their possession.
The police launched the operation based on a tip-off regarding the criminal gang who were allegedly coming to Siliguri to rob a businessman who generally carries over 50 lakh rupees on two wheeler.
A case under proper section of law against the criminals has been initiated and they will be forwarded to the Ld Court on September 05.
