Siliguri, 08th February: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Bhakti Nagar police station launched two separate operations on Monday night and seized a huge quantity of illegal liquor. Two including a woman have been arrested in connection to the case.
According to the information received, the police launched a campaign in the Khola Chand Fafri area. During which, the police arrested a woman identified as Sushila Chhetri for selling liquor illegally. Police recovered 76 bottles of liquor from her possession.
On the other hand, the police arrested Ching Jong Sherpa by campaigning in the Salugara pipeline area. Police recovered 178 bottles of liquor from the arrested accused. According to the information received, Sherpa used to bring liquor from Sikkim and sell it illegally in many areas of Siliguri. A four-wheeler vehicle has also been seized by the police from the accused. The two arrested were produced in Jalpaiguri court today.
