Bengal’s ‘2-days a week’ lockdown: Strict surveillance being kept by police in Siliguri

Siliguri, 05th August: A complete lockdown is being observed across the state today as per the Bengal’s ‘2-days a week’ lockdown guidelines.


However, several people were spotted loitering around the streets of Siliguri since this morning. Acting promptly, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police launched operations in different parts of the city to monitor the lockdown situation.

The first operation was carried out at Darjeeling Nore today. Several people were detained on charges of breaching the lockdown protocols. Several vehicles were also seized.


On the other hand, the Pradhan Nagar police kept strict surveillance at Champasari More. 16 people were detained in an hour-long operation. Legal action is likely to be taken against the breachers. Police also launched operations at the Pradhan Nagar traffic point and detained several vehicles.
