Siliguri, 18th July: Baikunthapur Forest Division organized Van Mahotsav program, on Tuesday, at the Farabari Primary School ground. The program witnessed the participation of school and college students, voluntary organizations, and environmental enthusiasts.
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamps and progressed with a cultural program. Subsequently, saplings were planted in the forest area adjacent to Farabari Primary School. Reportedly, in the plantation drive, around 2500 saplings were planted today. The program was graced by Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Ujjal Ghosh the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest North Bengal, Rajendra Jakhar Chief Conservator of Forest, Ayan Ghosh, the Division Forest Officer, and others.
