Bagdogra, 28th May: The undercover Cops of Bagdogra Police Station launched a special drive with the aim to reduce occurring of road accidents. Today, during Naka checking at M.M. Tarai Road near Trihana Tea Garden adjacent to Bengdubi area, the Police took action against drunk driving, in which 7 persons were apprehended on charges of driving under influence of alcohol and seized several vehicles.
Notably, people often go out with their friends and acquaintances during holidays, during this they are found being drunk and driving, and many a times they become victims of accidents. These incidents lead the Bagdogra Police to take the initiative. Reportedly, during the campaign the Police searched bike, scooty, and even four-wheelers and at the same time charged traffic rules defaulters.
