Bagdogra brown sugar case investigation handed over to DD

Siliguri, 03rd August: The investigation of the brown sugar case has been handed over to DD from the Bagdogra police station. Now DD will further take charge of the investigation to investigate this matter. 
It is to recall, acting on a tip off, the SOG and cops of Bagdogra police station arrested a smuggler with 2 kg 37 grams of brown sugar on July 26. The alleged accused who has been identified as Chandan Kumar was on his way to smuggle the drugs from Malda to Siliguri. He was nabbed near the Bagdogra airport area. The market value of the seized brown sugar is estimated worth Rs 04 crore.
On busting the smuggler on spot, the police took him under their custody and put him on remand for 07 days. After interrogation, the accused has been handed over to DD. The DD once again produced the accused in Siliguri court and took Chandan on remand for the next three days. 
Reportedly, DD will head to Bihar and Malda with Chandan for further investigation as he had reached Siliguri with the narcotics from these places. DD will try to investigate and reach further into the black business network with the help of peddler Chandan Kumar.
