Kharibari, 11th June: A miscreant was caught red-handed by the businesspersons while attempting to indulge in alleged theft and subsequently handed over to the police. The incident surfaced from Batasi in Kharibari.
According to reports, in the early hours of Sunday, the businessmen of the area, upon hearing the sound of the breaking of the shutter of a shop, acted swiftly and caught the miscreant red-handed. After being caught, the accused was tied to an electricity pole and the police were informed. In this regard, the businessmen of the area stated that incidents of theft were happening for several days.
Upon receiving the information, Kharibari police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Today, the accused has been produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court. Meanwhile, police are engaged in further investigation.
