Siliguri, 11th February: A day-night athletics meet will be organized on February 12 at Siliguri Kanchenjunga Sports Ground. The members of Siliguri Athletics Welfare Organisation (SAWO) spoke in this regard by holding a press conference in the office of Siliguri District Council on Saturday.
According to the information, this year, on the occasion of the silver jubilee year of SAWO, a day-night athletic meet will be organized for the first time in North Bengal and Siliguri. In this meet, 635 athletes from different districts of North Bengal will participate. A total of 52 programs will be organized with respective women’s and men’s sections. In addition to this, national level players will also participate.
Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Goutam Deb and Police Commissioner of Siliguri Akhilesh Chaturvedi will be present as chief guests in the athletic meet.
