Siliguri, 25th August: For the past few days, SJDA has been raising voice against illegal constructions in Siliguri’s Bidhan Market. Apart from this, ministers, as well as the SJDA chairman, have held several meetings with the traders regarding carrying out demolition drives.
While the Siliguri Municipal Corporation remained absent in the whole scenario, Ashok Bhattacharya, Chairman of administrative board at SMC, spoke out against the SJDA’s action.
Addressing the media, Bhattacharya accused SJDA of creating more complications instead of solving the problems. He further accused SJDA of keeping the SMC in dark concerning the matter and working singly.
Bhattacharya has written a letter to SJDA Chairman Vijay Chandra Barman opposing several questionable activities.
