Rajganj, 24th February: ASHA workers submitted a memorandum to Rajganj Rural Hospital, highlighting their four-point demands.
On Monday, around two hundred women from various Gram Panchayats of Rajganj block staged a deputation under the banner of the Paschimbanga ASHA Karmi Union. Their demands include a minimum allowance of ₹15,000 from the state government, a one-time compensation of ₹5 lakh for families of ASHA workers who die while on duty, timely payment of all dues, and immediate remuneration after work orders are issued. Additionally, they demanded that ASHA workers receive all government holidays.
Regarding the matter, Purnima Das Ghosh, President of the Rajganj Block ASHA Workers Union, stated that the memorandum was submitted with four-point demands and warned that they would join a strike if their demands were not met.
