Siliguri, 04th April: In a breakthrough, the Matigara police recovered an illegal firearm from the police station area last night and successfully nabbed an arms dealer. The arrested accused has been identified as Suraj Chhetri (23). Police registered a case for illegal possession of arms and presented the accused in court today.
According to police sources, the cops of Matigara police station received a tip that an illegal dealing of firearms was taking place in the area. Based on the inputs, the police launched a campaign. Reportedly, a pistol and a live cartridge have been recovered from Chhetri’s possession. Police have started an investigation.
