Siliguri, 05th May: Following the recent theft at the ISKCON temple, another robbery on ISKCON Road has caused alarm among local traders. A mobile shop near Bash Jhar More was broken into late Sunday night by miscreants who reportedly took advantage of the rain to carry out the theft.
The thieves entered by cutting through the tin roof of the shop. The incident was discovered on Monday morning by the shop owner, Bappa Biswas, who then informed the Bhakti Nagar police.
Police arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation. The shop owner stated that goods worth around two lakh rupees were stolen. Concerned over repeated thefts, traders in the area are now demanding stronger police surveillance during nighttime hours.
