Phansidewa, 23rd March: Another person, identified as Santosh Khalko (35) has been arrested for killing and feasting on leopard meat. A total of 12 people surrendered to Ghoshpukur forest department
Incidentally, on March 11, the forest department arrested 3 youths with leopard skin and claws in Phansidewa’s Foujiojote. Following this, the incident of feasting in leopard meat came to light.
The Ghoshpukur Forest Department arrested another person on Wednesday morning after conducting a search operation in the Phansidewa railway line. Soon after this, a total of 12 people from the area surrendered to the Ghoshpukur forest department.
Sonam Bhutia, ranger at Ghoshpukur forest department, said that the detained individuals are being questioned. A total of four people have been arrested in the incident. The investigation will be facilitated with the cooperation of locals.
