Siliguri, 01st July: Certificates were distributed to beneficiaries of the Annapurna Yojana at a programme held at the Dokra Hall of Naxalbari BDO office on Wednesday, where Minister of State (MoS) Anandamay Barman was present.
He stated that the state government is working towards women’s empowerment as per its commitment. He added that under the scheme, ₹3000 is being credited to women’s accounts, along with 33 per cent reservation for women in government jobs.
He further mentioned that payments were earlier made on 03rd June, and now funds are being transferred to around 1.30 crore women beneficiaries.
In Matigara block, around 22,000 women are receiving the benefit, while in Naxalbari block around 18,000 women are being covered under the scheme.
