All-party meeting held at Rajganj police station to maintain peace post announcement of WB election results

Rajganj, 05th May: After the election results, the Rajganj police held an all-party meeting at Rajganj police station to maintain peace and order after the announcement of the state assembly election results, on Wednesday.


It has been learned that after the election results, unrest took place in several places in the Rajganj assembly constituency. Several houses were burnt and damaged. Therefore, an all-party meeting was held on behalf of the Rajganj Police to maintain peace and order in the area.

Representatives of various political parties, Jalpaiguri DSP Samir Kumar Pal and IC of Rajganj Police Station Pankaj Kumar Sarkar were present at the meeting. The police urged all political parties to maintain peace and order.


Tapan Dey, acting president of INTTUC’s Jalpaiguri district, said that some BJP activists are spreading lies on social media. He said that he has urged the BJP leaders to stop such acts and further assured of looking after the homeless BJP workers.

BJP’s Rajganj South Mandal president Bidhan Jha said “We stand for peace. If anyone in the party spreads rumours, it will not be accepted.”
