Alipurduar draws mixed response to BJP’s 12-hour bandh

Alipurduar, 14th July: The BJP’s call to a 12-hour strike on Tuesday as a sign of protest against the mysterious death of Devendra Nath Roy, BJP MLA of Hematabad drew a mixed response across Alipurduar district.


Several BJP activists were seen picketing in different areas since this morning. Government buses were also spotted plying on the streets.


The BJP workers took to the streets in different areas of Alipurduar district including Kalchini, Hamiltonganj, and Kumargram. A large police force was also deployed in different areas to handle the situation.

BJP Alipurduar District President Ganga Prasad Sharma stated that they demand a CBI inquiry into the MLA’s death. He further stated that the general public in Alipurduar district is supporting the bandh.
