Siliguri, 22nd February: There is not a single lane in Siliguri city where people are not bothered by traffic jams. Therefore, to restore the heritage of the city, Mayor Goutam Deb has taken the initiative to solve the city’s traffic problem as soon as coming to power in the Municipal Corporation. On Tuesday, Deb held his first administrative meeting after taking the oath of office as the Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The mayor held a meeting with Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma, Darjeeling District Magistrate S Ponnambalam, Siliguri SDO Srinivas Venkatrao Patil and other administrative officials. Various issues including traffic jams and parking problems were discussed during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Deb said that the development work will be carried out on a day-to-day basis to achieve Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s dream of making Siliguri a ‘model city’.
In this context, Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma said that every effort will be made to accomplish the vision of Mayor Goutam Deb.
