Advocate Navin Sarkar death case: Siliguri Bar Association submits memo to Police Commissioner

Siliguri, 19th December: In recent developments in the mysterious death case of Advocate Navin Sarkar, the Siliguri Bar Association submitted a memorandum to the Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar. In this regard, the commissioner of police has assured of completing the investigations by December 27.


It has to be noted that, on December 4 morning, the body of Advocate Navin Sarkar was recovered by the cops of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station from the Teesta Canal adjacent to Fulbari’s Murder More. The incident left the family and Siliguri Bar Association baffled. After the incident, the family expressed suspicion of murder, while the Siliguri Bar Association raised demand for a fair investigation. However, after 14 days of the incident, Navin’s death still remains a mystery.

On Tuesday, the Siliguri Bar Association Secretary Alok Dhara, accompanied by his committee, met Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar and submitted a memorandum. In response, the Commissioner assured the association that Navin Sarkar’s case is under a detailed investigation. He added that the police will complete the investigation and submit the report on December 27.


In this regard, Alok Dhara, the Secretary of Siliguri Bar Association stated the investigation to be slow. He added that despite being over 14 days into the incident, the truth is yet to be revealed, for which, a memorandum has been submitted after a meeting with the Police Commissioner. The Police Commissioner has informed that the investigation report of the case will be submitted by December 27.
