Adenovirus wreaks havoc in the state! MLA takes stock of Siliguri District Hospital

Siliguri, 01st March: With the rapid increase in cases of adenovirus in children and along with the changing weather seems the virus taking a severe toll on the young ones across the state. The dangerous virus has also resulted in death among a few children, and with the growing spread, the concerns are also increasing in Siliguri. 


 

Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh on Wednesday, visited Siliguri District Hospital to comprehend the situation of Adenovirus treatment in Siliguri. Reportedly, there is no way of determining the said virus anywhere else in the state except Kolkata. Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh is worried about the same and thus he visited the hospital today. After visiting the hospital, the MLA met Superintendent Chandan Ghosh. MLA Shankar Ghosh said that due to the impassiveness of the health department, a major infection could spread in Siliguri. The rate of infection in Kolkata is increasing rapidly. He further added that he would write a letter to the Chief Minister demanding proper treatment at the earliest. 


 

At the same time, Siliguri Hospital Superintendent Chandan Ghosh said that there is a guideline of the Health Department regarding Adenovirus in Siliguri. However, due to the absence of a detection system, normal treatment is being followed. The graph of the infection is under control in Siliguri and thus he has asked the children and guardians to take necessary precautionary measures.
