Siliguri, 27th August: The residents of Adarsha Nagar rescued a woman from the Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat after she accidentally slipped into the Mahananda River.
Reportedly, the locals spotted the woman floating in the river. Acting promptly, they jumped into the river and rescued her. The woman was reportedly unconscious at the moment.
After she regained consciousness, she identified herself as Namita Das, a resident of Gajoldoba. She stated that she slipped and fell into the river while bathing in the river bank.
Meanwhile, the Khalpara Outpost Police also reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. The woman was then taken to the hospital.
