Kharibari, 21st March: A scooty rider lost his life after being hit by a truck in Kharibari. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Roy, a resident of the Ramdhanjote area.
It has been learned that a freight truck lost control and rammed into a scooty at Kharibari Quarter more on Sunday night, killing the rider on the spot. However, the fatal truck driver escaped after the incident. Meanwhile, the agitated locals vandalized the truck. Later, Kharibari and Naxalbari police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
On the other hand, the police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
