Rajganj, 23rd May: In a shocking incident, 8 migrant workers got down from a ‘Shramik Special’ train by pulling the emergency chain in Rajganj.
The migrants stopped the train midway in Rajganj Hasuapara. When the incident created a stir in the area, Belakoba Outpost police reached the spot and took the laborers into custody.
The laborers are residents of North Dinajpur district and had travelled to Hyderabad a few months ago. However, after the nation-wide lockdown was imposed, they could not return home and were living under severe crisis. After the Shramik Special trains were made available, the workers finally got a chance to return home.
The workers alleged that as the train reached NJP station on Saturday, the railway police did not allow them to get off at the station. With no other choice left, they pulled the chain and got off at the Rajganj Hasuapara area.
