7 Rohingyas apprehended in Siliguri, investigation underway

Siliguri, 16th March: Seven Rohingyas including six women were taken into custody by the NJP police, on Wednesday.


As per the information, the Rohingyas boarded the Kanchenjunga Express from Kumarghat, Assam on Tuesday. They were waiting at the NJP station the following morning to leave for Delhi. The Railway police grew suspicious of the gang and questioned them with the help of a voluntary organization.

Upon questioning, the women informed that they were heading to Delhi from Bangladesh and that a person named Mohammad Zubair was helping them in their intent. Following this, the railway police apprehended them. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
