65-year-old Mantu Das after losing his leg has been facing hardships to sustain his livelihood, appealed for help

Rajganj, 29th November: Mantu Das, a 65-year-old man, a resident of Tetultala village under Liusipakuri Gram Panchayat adjoining Siliguri city had lost his leg in an accident 13 years ago. Despite the ordeals in life, they did not stop him from making a living for his family. He makes various things from bamboo for the past several years in a small roadside shop.


Reportedly, about 13 years ago he was working at a roadside shop when a tragic accident in front of his shop seriously injured him after which his right leg had to be amputated. In this regard, Mantu Das said that earlier his household was running happily but everything changed after the tragic incident. Luckily his life was saved but he had to lose one of his legs.

At present, he walks with the help of a wheelchair. He further said that his family which consists of his wife and three sons is solely dependent on him. But now their goods are not being sold like before making it difficult for them to sustain their livelihood. Thus, he appealed to people for helping him and his family.
