Naxalbari, 07th November: In a heart-wrenching incident, 65-year-old Balo Oraon butchered his son to death with an axe in Naya Line area of Naxalbari Block.
As per the report, after having lunch on Saturday afternoon, Balo Oraon attacked his son Mittal Oraon with an axe without any valid reason. After the incident, the family members rescued Mittal in a critical condition and rushed him to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Mittal was brought home later in the evening and the family had planned to take him to Kolkata the following morning for treatment. However, Mittal succumbed to his injuries the same night.
After receiving information about the incident, the police of Naxalbari police station reached the spot today. The police arrested the accused father and are probing the entire incident.
