Siliguri, 21st December: Sensation prevailed after the body of a patient was found hanging from a noose in the restroom of Siliguri District Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Surojit Chakraborty (52), a resident of NJP’s Bhalobasha More area.
According to the report, Surojit Chakraborty was admitted to the surgical ward of Siliguri District Hospital after he complained of abdominal pain on December 18. Shockingly, his body was found hanging from a noose inside the restroom of the ward at midnight on Monday. After learning about the matter the following morning, the deceased’s family complained of not being informed about his demise.
As per sources, Surojit used to work as a security guard and had been struggling with mental depression due to family unrest. After the incident, the body was recovered and sent to North Bengal Medical College for autopsy.
