Rajganj, 21st November: Rajganj police recovered 500 gunny bags of ration rice and wheat from a truck. Two people identified as Hafizul Haque (22) and Rajib Hussain (18) have been arrested in the incident. They are residents of Cooch Behar.
The police received a tip-off that a truck loaded with ration rice and wheat was heading towards Siliguri via Jalpaiguri. Acting on the tip-off, the Rajganj police launched operations and detained the truck. 230 quintals of ration materials were recovered from the vehicle. The driver and the assistant driver were arrested.
Rajganj police IC Pankaj Sarkar said that the driver could not show the valid documents of the ration items. They will be sent to Jalpaiguri court on Monday. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
