4th-year examinations likely to be cancelled following Jalpaiguri Pharmacy College students’ protest

Jalpaiguri, 18th August: After the students of Jalpaiguri Pharmacy College, on Monday, gheraoed the college principal and staged a protest demanding cancellation of the fourth year examinations amid the ongoing pandemic, the principal decided to cancel the examinations.


However, the students warned of continuing with their protest until and unless the college issues a formal cancellation notice.

The students stated they were being pressurized to take exams while other colleges have postponed their examinations as per the instructions of the State government. They further expressed concern over one of the students, who has been admitted to Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital following fever and breathlessness.


They further demanded that as per the announcement of the Chief Minister, they must be evaluated based on the 80-20 formula.

On Tuesday, Deputy Magistrate was sent to the college on behalf of the district administration. Despite lengthy discussions, the students were adamant in their demands.
