4 Congress leaders arrested by Siliguri Police amid lockdown

Siliguri, 11th May: Four Congress leaders on their way to the SDO office were allegedly arrested by the police, on Monday.


As per the reports, few Congress leaders, under the leadership of the Darjeeling District Congress General Secretary Alokesh Chakraborty, were heading towards the SDO office to submit a memorandum urging the government to initiate the process of bringing the stranded laborers back to the state. However, they were arrested by the police midway.

Later, MLA Shankar Malkar released them on bail and expressed outrage over the role of the police administration during such a crisis. He further alleged that there must have been a political motive behind the entire incident.4 Congress leaders arrested on their way to the SDO office amid lockdow.
