35 kg cannabis recovered from a government bus in Bidhannagar of Phansidewa

Phansidewa, 22nd March: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of Bidhannagar Investigation Center have recovered 35 kg of cannabis from a government bus on the Bidhannagar National Highway (NH) in Phansidewa.


As per reports, on Friday, acting on a tip-off the police of Bidhannagar Investigation Center launched an operation in Phansidewa. During this, the Bidhannagar area of the block was raided and a government bus was halted. Upon initiating a search, 35 kg of cannabis was recovered from the bus. However, no arrest has been made in connection to the case.

According to police sources, the market value of the cannabis is estimated to be in lakhs of rupees. This banned item was being transported from Dinhata in Cooch Behar to Malda for smuggling. The driver and co-driver of the bus have been released after interrogation. At present, the police of Bidhannagar Investigation Center are engaged in further investigation.
