Jalpaiguri, 03rd September: A total of 250 members from the Sadar block left CPI(M) and BJP and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Reportedly, a staff meeting was organized at Toralpara on Thursday on behalf of the Mandalghat Region SC/ST Cell. Dr Pradeep Kumar Burma, Co-ordinator of Jalpaiguri Vidhan Sabha and District Leaders of SC/ST Cell handed over the party flag to the newcomers and welcomed them.
Burma stated that through the programme, the party’s strength has increased in the Jalpaiguri Assembly constituency. He further hoped that other people will also leave the BJP and join TMC in the coming days.
