250-meter river embankment in Dalsingpara collapsed due to heavy rainfall

Alipurduar, 20th August: After the water level of Torsha river increased due to heavy rains, the 250-meter river embankment in the Dalsingpara Ranbahadurbasti area of ​​Kalchini block collapsed on Friday. The locals are worried as river water has started entering the village.


Meanwhile, river water has started entering the protected forest area of ​​Nilpara Range and many trees in the forest have been washed away. In this situation, residents demanded immediate repair work in the area.


Dalsingpara Deputy Pradhan Shambhu Jaiswal said, “If action is not taken soon, there will be a lot of damage. We have informed the Irrigation Department and Kalchini Block Administration.”
