All four men convicted for the gang-rape and murder of a young Delhi woman in 2012 will be hanged tomorrow morning. The Patiala House Court in Delhi rejected all the petitions of the convicts, Akshay Thakur (31), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Sharma (26), and Mukesh Singh (32).
The convicts had claimed that they still had legal remedies left and had requested that their execution be stopped. Three previous dates passed as the convicts filed petition after petition to delay their execution.
It was reported that a 23-year-old woman was brutally assaulted and tortured in a moving bus and dumped on the road by six people, including a juvenile, on December 16, 2012. The woman died a few days later.
