Siliguri, 14th March: In a tragic incident, Nandi Barman, a 19-year-old athlete, collapsed and died while participating in a marathon, on Sunday. The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the deceased’s family and the entire sports world.
It has been learned that a 10 km marathon was organized on Sunday on behalf of the North Bengal Runners Organization. While participating in the marathon, Nandi Barman suffered a heart attack and collapsed on the road. He lost his life yesterday while undergoing treatment in a nearby nursing home.
In this regard, Barman’s elder brother Ravi Barman said that Nandi was preparing to join the Indian Army as serving the country was his childhood dream.
